Who are ShareIn?

ShareIn have been directly authorised by the FCA since 2014. We specialise in impactful retail investments. We’re the website, back office, client money and ISA manager that showcases investment opportunities for our clients’ platforms. We serve the UK’s leading impact investing organisations including Octopus Energy Collective, Abundance Investments, Triodos Bank, Ethex and Energise Africa.

We have 3 Appointed Representatives and also work with directly authorised firms to provide them with technology solutions and ISA management services. The retail investments vary in nature considerably and range from shares or bonds in socially or environmentally driven SMEs to investments in property development projects. The amazing thing about what we do is that retail investors love the transparency of making direct investments in projects, causes and initiatives they are interested in and passionate about.

Who we’re looking for

We are small team with a big impact and we’re looking for a versatile, energetic team member who can step into a new role at ShareIn and make it their own. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong head for numbers and will not be afraid to question financial information and challenge assumptions, striving to ensure investor information is clear.

Role Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Confidence in financial/accounting terminology
  • Fastidiousness: A strong eye for detail
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with external contacts and colleagues
  • Flexibility: Things move quickly at ShareIn, and your tasks may evolve – we think that’s a good thing!
  • Curiosity: A desire to learn about the alternative finance sector in the UK and beyond. 

Desirable:

  • Demonstratable experience: worked with Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering requirements
  • External or internal audit experience
  • Financial Services experience

Role Responsibilities 

  • Handling payments to/from our client money bank account
  • Reviewing all aspects of financial promotions marketing material
  • Scrutinising assumptions in investment material
  • KYC/CDD/AML transaction monitoring
  • Monitoring ShareIn’s Appointed Representatives
  • Maintaining robust records to ensure we can demonstrate our compliance with relevant regulations.

Salary £30,000 - £36,000 dependent on experience

35 days holiday increasing to 37 days after 5 years 

Option to work remotely or from a central Edinburgh office with castle views
